It looks like 2020 has a quarantine birthday in store for a lot of us. Life isn’t “normal” right now and we are adapting to a new reality as our world attempts to get a grip on this pandemic. All celebrating is put on hold as we are forced to practice social distance.
Birthdays will continue to occur so, make the best of them! Every new year we are blessed with is worthy of a celebration not to mention social connections are absolutely crucial for our mental and emotional health. Here are a few virtual ideas while we are coping with our new normal.

- Organize a virtual happy hour. Invite some friends to partake in a birthday session with their favorite drink. Zoom and Google Hangouts are a couple of virtual meeting options.
- Have a virtual dinner. Pick your favorite food, pick your essential people and have a virtual meal together to honor the birthday. Every guest can get creative in making a birthday meal in your honor or you can coordinate delivery of your favorite restaurant for all guests. Party hats required and feel free to add a theme.
- Have a virtual game night. You can organize fun games, trivia or even a dance party!
- Have a drive by caravan. Organize your guests to Decorate their cars, play some music, meet in a designated area and drive through for a parade!
- Take a virtual dance lesson. Also, whether on your own or with a group, find a choreographer who will teach a class virtually for you and or your guests.
They key is don’t stop celebrating! Not for the little ones, not for our seniors and not for all the ages in between. Furthermore, it is important (especially in a time of such uncertainty) that we take the time to make others feel good.
